White River Preserve

Des Arc, Arkansas

A new family barn at a hunting camp in Arkansas, this project blends function and tradition with a modern twist. Designed around a classic dogtrot layout, it features a working barn and a trophy room connected by an open breezeway.

What sets this project apart is its use of Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs), offering both energy efficiency and construction precision. The barn includes ample storage for equipment and gear with large freezer storage, while the trophy room serves as a gathering space with a fire lounge, kitchen, bathroom, bunk room, and porch.

A nearby detached open-air structure provides covered protection for larger equipment such as tractors, boats, and Can-Ams, and includes a dedicated game cleaning station—making this a fully outfitted, purpose-driven addition to the camp.
